Mr Fergus Noble
Consultant Upper Gastrointestinal and General Surgeon
Mr Fergus Noble is a Consultant Surgeon and Clinical Lead for Upper GI Surgery at University Hospital Southampton. Known for his meticulous approach and patient-
focused care, he has particular expertise in minimally invasive and robotic surgery for oesophageal and gastric cancers, reflux disease, achalasia, and hernias.
Mr Noble studied medicine at St Bartholomew’s and The Royal London Medical School and completed a PhD in cancer immunotherapy. His advanced training includes an international fellowship at the Royal Adelaide Hospital in Australia.
He has pioneered the use of robotic oesophageal and gastric surgery at UHS and introduced innovative anti-reflux procedures, including the LINX and RefluxStop systems. He maintains a strong focus on surgical outcomes, audit, and research.
