Consultant HPB and General Surgeon

Mr Ali Arshad is a Consultant Surgeon at University Hospital Southampton with a special interest in complex minimally invasive liver and pancreatic surgery. He leads
the robotic HPB surgery programme at UHS, one of the largest in the UK, and chairs the hospital’s robotic surgery steering group.
He graduated with honours from Cambridge University and completed surgical training in Nottingham and Leicester, earning an MD for clinical research from the University of Leicester. A senior fellowship in advanced liver and pancreatic surgery at University Hospital Birmingham followed.
Mr Arshad manages a wide general surgery caseload. He offers private consultations alongside his NHS practice.
