Consultant Anaesthetist and Intensive Care Specialist

Dr Sanjay Gupta is a Consultant at University Hospital Southampton, where he is Clinical Director of Anaesthesia and Critical Care, and Clinical Advisor to the Medical
Innovation Department. He also practises privately at Spire Southampton and the Nuffield Hospital in Chandlers Ford.
His clinical expertise covers anaesthesia for complex oncological and surgical procedures, including hepatobiliary (HPB) surgery, interventional radiology, and
Delcath Chemosaturation PHP. Dr Gupta is the UK lead and global expert in PHP anaesthesia and frequently trains centres across Europe and the US.
After graduating from King’s College London in 1993, he became a Consultant in 2006. He pioneered enhanced sedation services for procedures such as ERCP and interventional radiology and plays an active role in medical education and patient safety initiatives.
Dr Gupta is also the founder of the MICROGUIDE mobile app, which supports clinical decision-making and is used in over 200 hospitals worldwide.
